Karen Blandford has over 25 years
experience in the field of community development. She has been
the President of her own firm since February 2006.
Blandford worked for the City of Westminster for 17 years, directing
the housing and community development efforts and overseeing $12
million in investments in community development. Prior to Westminster,
she worked as a commercial-industrial real estate appraiser and
for her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Karen has been a PHA Executive Director and the Executive
Director of a Community Development Corporation. She has founded
numerous nonprofit organizations, and served on the Boards of many
others. She’s helped build homeless shelters, an adult day
care center, a small senior housing project, a community arts center,
a Boys and Girls Club, and green single family housing.
Ms. Blandford holds a Master in Management from the College of
Notre Dame in Maryland.
